Marjorie Hoelker
Psy.D.
Dr. Hoelker has extensive experience working with families, individual adults and couples. She is passionate about her work with families and couples, and has completed Level I of Training in the Gottman Institute, a dynamic training program for working with couples. She has over 20 years of experience working with folks struggling with anxiety, challenged sleep, depressive symptoms, those having issues adjusting to/from various life situations, relationship issues, grief, and those simply desiring to make positive changes in their lives.
Dr. Hoelker uses a collaborative approach in understanding and appreciating each client's story, goals and desire for change. She meets clients where they are in their journey while gently challenging them to move toward their desired goals, hopefully with humility, and, when appropriate, with humor. She works with clients in building strong and healthy relationships through teaching effective communication and conflict navigation skills, increasing insight into potential faulty thought patterns that contribute to symptoms, helps with desired behavioral changes to increase motivation, and applies a collaborative approach to establish and reach each client's desired therapeutic outcome.
